During ISATs our kids get graham crackers… which inspired me to write this…
Graham crackers, such a childhood treat.
When I went to daycare as a little girl, we had them as a snack with margarine smothered on top. I don’t have margarine in my house, so I don’t indulge in that snack anymore. But in my college and high school years I felt a little nostalgic and may have had a cracker or two with the not so buttery spread.
My graham crackers then took on a more dessert vibe. CHOCOLATE. Chocolate around me is in danger. It’s an addiction that is similar to those M&M commercials we see on TV. I will devour you. No piece of chocolate is safe around me.
Graham crackers with chocolate morsels melted on top. Graham crackers with nutella, that wonderful hazelnutty, chocolately spread, on top… and who could forget s’mores! Oh how divine graham crackers are with chocolate.
Then, I decided that I needed to be a bit healthier. Fruit, fruit and graham crackers sound good together. Well, cool whip sounds good with fruit and graham crackers. A parfait! Raspberries, blackberries, cool whip, and crushed graham crackers…
Oh take me to heaven now! As long as there are graham crackers, I think I’ll be happy.
